About Medical Waste Environmental Engineers, Inc.

Professional Medical Waste Transportation, Treatment, and Disposal

Medical Waste Environmental Engineers, Inc.

Locally owned and operated, MWEE (Medical Waste Environmental Engineers, Inc.) is the most experienced, knowledgeable, and responsible choice for the transportation, disposal, and treatment of biohazardous waste. We are fully licensed, certified, and insured. Same-day or next-day pickup is possible throughout the Central Coast of California from Paso Robles down to Simi Valley.

MWEE is family owned and operated. We are not a broker or a hauler. When you call for our services, you will speak to a real person, not a call center. You will see our trucks and our equipment run by our own professionally trained staff. And because we are local, our pricing is often lower than out-of-state brokers, and we do not require any long-term contracts.

Our Family, Our Business, This Community

More than 30 years ago, we came to the Central Coast to escape the urban jungle of Los Angeles. We wanted to raise a family in a healthy, beautiful setting, a place we could call home for the long haul. So the Higa family settled in Santa Maria, California.

We quickly fell in love with the slower pace and the outdoor lifestyle afforded us by the world-class weather. Whenever we could, we found ourselves hiking open trails or walking on the beach with our three children. As medical professionals, we were well aware of the national news story about medical waste washed up on the shores of Long Island, New York, in July of 1988. We resolved to help prevent the same thing from happening here in our community.

And that’s when we decided to become part of the solution. We started MWEE, and for the last several decades, we have become the region’s foremost experts on the treatment and disposal of medical waste. Along the way, we have learned so much and helped the Central Coast stay beautiful by making sure we never see medical waste infect and contaminate our environment.

We thank you, our friends and customers, for making this journey possible and look forward to continuing our partnership into the future. Together, we have made a real difference in preserving the quality of life we all appreciate so much.

However, while we wish we could say our work is done, it’s clearly not. Recent reports of biohazardous material in the public square of places like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Orange County only highlight the ongoing need for MWEE to sustain its mission of helping to clean up California whenever and wherever we can.
